The bill has been reported out of subcommittee.  It is on the agenda of the
full House Judiciary Committee next Tuesday at 2:30 pm.

The future of the bill is uncertain with only five weeks left in the current
legislative session.  If the bill passes the House, it is not certain that
the Senate will take it up.  May 1st is the deadline for bills to be sent to
the other body for consideration.  After May 1st it requires 2/3's vote to
consider a bill that did not meet the May 1st deadline.  It's not
impossible, but it will be an uphill battle.

Contact members of the House Judiciary Committee before Tuesday to express
your support of this bill.
