Directions to the Library Advocacy Day Rally on June 29
http://annual.ala.org/2010/index.php?title=Directions_to_the_Rally
The American Library Association (ALA) will host the Library Advocacy
Day rally at 11 a.m. June 29, 2010, on the U.S. Capitol grounds in
Washington, D.C. This one-time opportunity during ALA's Annual 2010
Conference is a chance for library supporters to demonstrate support for
libraries and for first-time advocates to get involved in library
advocacy. After the rally, which is free and open to the public, ALA
members will meet with members of Congress and staff to talk about the
vital role libraries play in their communities and the federal issues
that can help or hinder the library's ability to serve its community,
especially the importance of federal funding.
How to Register, Etc.
On June 29, 2010, at 11 a.m., library advocates from all 50 states and
Washington, D.C., will meet at Upper Senate Park on the U.S. Capitol
grounds to participate in Library Advocacy Day
<http://www.ala.org/ala/issuesadvocacy/advocacy/libraryadvocacyday/index
.cfm> (LAD). Register now to attend!
