Wake Forest University seeks a collaborative, innovative and
service-oriented Librarian to lead the Z. Smith Reynolds Library's
Scholarly Communication initiative, transforming the University's
landscape of scholarly communication from traditional to 21st century
models for Open Access, scholarship and publishing.  The successful
Librarian will manage the University's institutional repository
initiative, WakeSpace, including policy development; content
recruitment; faculty outreach; system administration and documentation;
training of staff and repository users; coordinates IR-related
liaison/faculty activities and assessment of the service; designs,
develops and implements all aspects of the ZSR Library Open Access
Publishing Program; provides user instruction for students, faculty, and
the University community; serves as the library liaison and subject
specialist for departments as needed. This is a twelve month position,
with Library Faculty status and rank and reports to the Head of
Research, Instruction and Technology Services.

The Z. Smith Reynolds Library, with a collection of over 1.7 million
volumes, materials expenditures of $3.5 million, and operating budget
over $7 million, serves over 4,000 students in the undergraduate
College, the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, the Graduate
School of Arts and Sciences, and the Divinity School of Wake Forest
University.

Qualifications:  

Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, plus
at least two years experience in an academic library. An equivalent
combination of education and experience may be accepted.

 

Salary and rank:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Position is appointed to Library Faculty ranks as established by Wake
Forest University. Rank at appointment is based on the successful
applicant's experience and relevant credentials.
