Desirable Qualifications:

*   Academic or Community College Library experience in public service;
*   One (1) year of library experience;
*   Management and/or supervisory experience;
*   Ability to work well with limited supervision;
*   Ability to promote library services and resources to the college
community;
*   Ability to read and/or speak Spanish;
*   Knowledge of library policies and procedures;
*   Knowledge of computer, office applications, and library related
software;
*   Knowledge of research procedures and software;
*   Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds;
*   Excellent customer service skills;
*   Strong technology skills.

Assistant Director, Public Services, Central Piedmont Community College,
Charlotte NC 

This position assists the Director in leading, managing, and directing major
functions within Library Services Public Services Division that relate to
Circulation, Reference, Library Instruction, Document Delivery and Archives.
The Assistant Director assists the Director in strategic planning,
operational proficiency, and administrative oversight of his/her assigned
functions.  The Assistant Director is expected to demonstrate and maintain
competence in each of the following areas throughout employment at the
college:  Master of subject matter, leadership, administrative management,
college and community citizenship, college and division activities, and the
growth and enhancement of college mission and programs.
