Subject: [alacro-l] ALA Chapters and Money Smart Week
To Chapters:
Following up on a program that was presented at the Wisconsin Library Association conference last fall we have been in contact with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago about partnering to take the successful regional Money Smart Week program national, with libraries as a major component.
Here is the Fed page on Money Smart http://www.chicagofed.org/webpages/education/msw/index.cfm
The program promotes financial literacy, and many libraries in the Midwest have participated in the program.
The proposed week next year is April 3-9 for all (expect Wisconsin and Indiana which run in October).
There will be a program on Monday at Annual on Money Smart Week, info below) that I encourage you to attend if you are at Annual
This programs offers the potential for ALA and the Chapters to partner with financial organizations and institutions on a critical education campaign for all.
Michael
