Greetings!
Registration for YALSA's winter session of online courses ends next week! Register by Feb. 2 at www.ala.org/yalsa/onlinecourses<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/onlinecourses> and join us for two classes this winter session: Booktalks Quick and Simple (with Nancy Keane) and Power Programming for Teens (with Amy Alessio).
Both classes begin February 8 and run for four weeks.
Hook teens on books with YALSA's Booktalks Quick and Simple
Master booktalker Nancy Keane leads this class, offering guidance on this excellent strategy for encouraging teens to read. Keane provides participants with an overview of booktalks, including creating your own presentations, using successful techniques, and incorporating tech trends into your booktalking. Register today at www.ala.org/yalsa/onlinecourses<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/onlinecourses>!
Bring teens into the library with YALSA's Power Programming for Teens
Programming expert Amy Alessio leads this course, showing public and school librarians how to use special programs and events to entice teens into the library. Alessio covers all kinds of programs, from self-running contests and reading celebrations to community partnerships and teen advisory boards — and how to tailor them to work at your facility. Register today at www.ala.org/yalsa/onlinecourses<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/onlinecourses>!
Registration for both courses cost:
• $135 for YALSA members and ALA Student members
• $175 for ALA members
• $195 for nonmembers
