Dear Fellow Librarians,
The USC School of Law librarians are getting ready to hit the road again with our Circuit Riders Outreach program. Our goal is to visit all 16 judicial circuits in SC to teach non-law librarians and their staff about legal resources available to their patrons.
The purpose of this e-mail is to solicit host sites for the first round of our all-day workshops. A typical agenda is included below. If you cannot accommodate an all-day event, we will adjust our program to meet your needs (minimum ½ day workshop). In the past, host libraries were responsible for inviting their own staff and those of surrounding public and academic libraries to attend the workshops. A sample announcement is included below.
The webpage for past workshops is located at http://www.law.sc.edu/library/research_aids/circuit_riders/ <http://www.law.sc.edu/library/research_aids/circuit_riders/> . We are in the process of updating and revising our presentation materials and hope to end our tour by presenting each host library with their own print manuals. We also plan to redesign our webpage to include a pdf version of the manual alongside web videos of each presentation.
We have five openings in our schedule for the first round of workshops (See Proposed Schedule). Please contact me at conroyt at law.sc.edu <mailto:conroyt at law.sc.edu> or 803-777-1659 if you are interested in hosting a workshop on one of the available dates below.
We look forward to your responses and to working with you to provide access to legal information to all South Carolinians.
With Best Regards,
Terrye Conroy
Program Coordinator
