This was sent via the SELA listserv. I've not examined it fully, but it may answer
questions for those looking for information on the events occurring in Gulf of
Mexico.

*Please excuse cross-posting*

Esteemed Colleagues,

As a native of Mobile, Alabama, I am very concerned about the
current environmental situation in the Gulf of Mexico. For
those of you looking for more information, I thought I would
share this website with you that a colleague shared with us
on Facebook. Updates on the Gulf of Mexico BP Oil Spill can
be found at this site, coordinating responses from Homeland
Security, NOAA, EPA, Dept of the Interior, the Coast Guard
and BP.

"A library is not just a warehouse for books; it is a
physical representation of a set of cultural values that have
accumulated over thousands of years. Libraries salvaged and
preserved Western civilization; they have been a hub for
intellectual exchange, a ladder of social mobility, and a
promise of continuity from one generation to the next. It is
not mere courtesy that causes people to become silent in the
library, as they do in a church: Libraries are sacred
places." -William Pannapacker
