Catalog Cards on the Catwalk!

Amber Gibbs, Interlibrary Loan Librarian at University of South Carolina
Libraries, will showcase a dress she made out of old catalog cards at
the 2010 Runaway Runway recycled fashion show. Amber's creation is made
entirely of cards from the University Libraries card catalog. The card
catalog hasn't been used since 1991 and was recently removed from the
Thomas Cooper Library. Over the past year students, faculty, and
community members have repurposed the cards in many ways in celebration

Runaway Runway is presented by Columbia Design League (a membership
group of the Columbia Museum of Art)  and will be held at 701 Whaley
this Friday, April 23rd at 7:30 (doors open at 6:00pm). For more
