Dear friends:

You are invited to become a member of the Southeastern Library
Association.

There's so much going on in SELA! In 2010, SELA will meet in Little
Rock, Arkansas, and I hope that you will be able to join us. It will be
held at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock and will include great
speakers, a chance to network and a chance to visit such diverse sites
as the Clinton Library and Heifer International. The Mentoring Program
up and running and SELA is always looking for both mentors and mentees.
The Southeastern Librarian, a peer-reviewed journal, is a great place to
get published. You can find out more about what SELA's doing now at
http://selaonline.org/index.htm <http://selaonline.org/index.htm>

SELA members also have the opportunity to network with peers closer to
home and to get involved in leadership positions more quickly than with
national organizations. There are opportunities for service on
committees, sections and round tables. Something for everyone!

Only SELA members can submit award nominations for outstanding
Southeastern authors, library programs and individuals.

I hope that you will consider joining SELA and help make it a strong
force within the Southeast. Dues to SELA are on an affordable sliding
scale, and you can access a membership form at
http://selaonline.org/membership/index.htm
<http://selaonline.org/membership/index.htm> .

There will be a SELA booth at the 2009 SCLA Conference next week. The
booth will be located near the outside of the Exhibit Hall. SELA members
from South Carolina will be staffing the booth so please plan to stop by
and see us! We would love to talk with you.

We will be giving away Hershey bars to the first 36 persons who join
SELA.

We will also be giving away a free one-year SELA membership along with
some other great door prizes. The winners will be announced at the end
of the Awards Brunch on Friday.

If you have any questions or need further information, please let me
know.

See you at the conference.
