To Chapters:
ALA continues to monitor efforts in the states to pass Taxpayer Bill of
Rights (TABOR) legislation. Passage of this type of legislation could
have a crippling effect on library services in a state.
I'm pleased to report that proposed TABOR legislation was defeated by
the people in Washington 57% to 43% and in Maine 60%-40%.
