ALSC Student Session: "Marketing Your Library on the Web" Presented by
Jill Bickford, West Bloomfield Township Public Library
Where is the first place you go when you want information? The internet
of course! Join us for an enlightening discussion about how to market
your library programs electronically, getting parents and caregivers the
information they need through a medium they are already comfortable
with. Learn about cool new tools on the Web, as well as how to use these
tools to their fullest.
About the ALSC Student Session Series: ALSC invites student members to
interact, network, and learn virtually through this free online series
of presentations and discussions. Each one hour session gives students
the opportunity to discuss hot library topics with ALSC members across
the country without having to leave home. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Good Books with Professor Loren Logsdon: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter,
by Carson McCullers
In high school or college did you have an English teacher who really
made literature come alive for you? Well, Professor Loren Logsdon of
Eureka College <http://www.eureka.edu/index.html> in central Illinois
is better than that! Join us on the second Tuesday of each month for an
informal yet informed discussion of some very good books. If you haven't
read the book, or haven't read it in years or decades, no problem. No
pop quizzes!
First published in 1940, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter tells the story of
a deaf man named John Singer and the other denizens of a Depression-era
Georgia mill town.
