LIBRARY ASSISTANT SPECIAL COLLECTIONS AND ARCHIVES
Furman University’s Duke Library invites applications for a Library
Assistant for Special Collections and Archives. The successful candidate
will assist students, faculty, staff and other researchers with research
and will have responsibilities to add content to the Special Collections
web site to raise the collection's visibility. This position will support
accessioning, processing, and the use of materials in Special Collections
and Archives, and will assist with the management of the department. 

The position reports to the Special Collections Librarian and University
Archivist.

Required qualifications: Minimum High School graduate with 2-5years
experience in a special collections department, archives, museum or
related field. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and online library or
artifact catalogue. Web editing skills. Excellent organization and
communication skills. Ability to perform independently. Ability to follow
written and oral instruction. Attention to detail and the ability to
prioritize tasks. Demonstrated ability to work well with others, including
students, public, and peers. Ability to direct and supervise student
workers. Ability to operate a flatbed scanner.

Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with Dreamweaver. Familiarity with
PastPerfect or other collection management software. Bachelors Degree.
Supervisory experience.
