SCLA COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY SECTION SUMMER PROGRAM-REGISTRATION EXTENDED

 

We have received several inquires about late registrations so we are
extending the registration deadline.

Registrations must be postmarked by Monday, June 1st.  Please send your

Please join us for the 2009 SCLA College and University Section Summer
Program: 

 

Other Duties as Assigned: Emerging Roles for Librarians

 

Date: Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Location: Thomas Cooper Library, University of South Carolina, Columbia,
SC

Time:  10:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Registration cost: $30.00 for SCLA members and full-time students and
$35.00 for non-members (lunch is included).

Registration deadline: May 29 ~ register early, as seating is limited!

The program will provide a glimpse into the future of librarianship by
examining new jobs and skills for today's librarians and encourage
opportunities for networking on this important topic with your
colleagues from across the state. 

 

The keynote session will feature Lori Goetsch, President-Elect of ACRL
and Dean of Libraries at Kansas State University, who will discuss
emerging roles in the profession and update us on related ACRL
activities.

 

In the afternoon, Lisa Wiecki, Adam Haigh, and Mike Berry of Lander
University will discuss how they took stock of their job duties and
titles under a new dean with a session entitled "This Old Job:  Our
Process of Revision". 

 

And the program will finish with a panel entitled, "Emerging Roles in
South Carolina Libraries". The panelists include Mandy Mastrovita,
Clemson University; Todd Rix, Coker College; and Jan Comfort, Clemson
University.
