PUBLIC SERVICES LIBRARIAN 

Non-tenure-track - Evening

Public Services Librarian, non-tenure-track Instructor, 12-month
appointment to begin July 1, 2009. 

Responsibilities: Primary duties are heavily concentrated in, but are
not limited to: Reference, Collection Development and Information
Literacy Instruction. Reports to the Dean of the Library. Assists in
closing the library each evening with extended hours during exams.
During fall and spring semesters, the hours are Monday through Thursday,
2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reference desk
coverage hours are 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Hours
will be different for summer sessions and during breaks and holiday
periods. 

Requirements: An ALA-accredited MLS; high interest in providing quality
service; knowledge of print and electronic resources; ability to work
effectively with students, faculty, staff and others; excellent oral and
written skills; strong commitment to client-centered services.
Preferred: Prior library experience.
