Dear SCLA Technical Services Section and SCLA members, 

This is a reminder to sign up for the Technical Services Section
workshop on DublinCore.  If you've ever wondered what it was and what it
might be able to do for your library, this overview of a widely-used
form of metadata is for you!

DublinCore: Metadata Made Simple

Date: Monday, June 15, 2009
Location: Thomas Cooper Library, University of South Carolina, Columbia,
SC
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Registration cost: $25.00 for SCLA members and full-time students and
$30.00 for non-members (lunch is NOT included).
Registration deadline: June 11th

The program will include a brief overview of metadata and a hands-on
opportunity to use Dublin Core. The session will feature Kate Boyd,
Digital Archives at University of South Carolina and Douglas King,
Cataloger at University of South Carolina. 
Driving directions <http://www.sc.edu/library/tcllocate.html>  to Thomas
Cooper Library. Parking is available in the Bull Street garage adjacent
to the library the fee is $1/hour.
