 Archives Institute

The Archives Institute is a basic archival education workshop sponsored by
the South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board (SC SHRAB).
This three day workshop, which is funded by the National Historical
Publications and Records Committee (NHPRC) will introduce basic archival
practices and standards or Archives 101 skills.

The Institute will provide training materials and instruction designed to
introduce individuals who have responsibility for archival
collections—but may have never received formal training or might need a
refresher course—to the basics of archives. Using lecture and hands-on
activities, this course will delve into archival aspects such as policies
and procedures, preservation, and disaster planning and recovery.

Free to SC archivists, October 7-9, 2009, SCDAH, Columbia, SC. Â

Application deadline August 14th.
