The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Library seeks an energetic, service-oriented professional for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Web Services Librarian.

The Web Services Librarian coordinates the design, development, and maintenance of web presences for the School of Medicine Library, the School of Medicine Ultrasound Institute, and the Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education. The position coordinates communication with Society for Ultrasound Institute members and meets regularly with School of Medicine Ultrasound Institute leadership. The Web Services Librarian develops online tutorials, plans web-related projects, and monitors and responds to emerging web-related trends. The Web Services Librarian also develops and delivers course-integrated educational programs and library classes. Duties also include reference assistance and collection development. This position reports to the School of Medicine Library Assistant Director for Education & Outreach.

Required:  MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited school of library science. Two years of professional library experience including design, development and maintenance of web sites. Experience using Dreamweaver software. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred: Experience in a health sciences library. Knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies, ColdFusion, JavaScript, Adobe Captivate, Articulate. Experience with online tutorial development. Graphical design skills. Experience with web site database design. Library instruction experience. Knowledge of distance education and continuing medical education programs.

Salary: $37,500 minimum.  Salary commensurate with experience.
