Poster Sessions
SCLA 2009 Annual Conference

Poster sessions are an effective visual forum for exchanging
information, a means to communicate ideas, research, future trends and a
great way to highlight successful library programs and services!
Poster sessions may present any of the following:
*	a description of an innovative library program or service
*	an analysis of a practical problem-solving effort
*	a report of a research study
Poster sessions consist of materials such as pictures, data, graphs,
diagrams and narrative text placed on display boards (usually 4' x 6';
dimensions and formats may vary). During the time allotted for poster
sessions, presenters informally discuss their projects with conference
attendees.
Fifteen (15) simultaneous poster sessions will be selected for
presentation at SCLA 2009. To apply, complete an application (below in
this email, or find online at
http://www.scla.org/uploads/AnnualConference2009/postersessionform2009.p
df)
Submit application by email, mail or fax. Contact Kathy Sheppard,
803.734.8653, ksheppard at statelibrary.sc.gov for more information.
The deadline for submitting applications is August 14, 2009. A letter
announcing those accepted for presentation will be mailed to all
applicants on or about August 19, 2009.
Poster sessions will be presented on Friday, October 30, 2009 from
8am-9am.

Poster Session Tips:

*	Your display should be easy to follow in a logical manner.
Avoid clutter.
*	All materials should be visible from 4 feet away.
*	Handouts are not necessary, but strongly encouraged!
