South Carolina Loses Beloved Librarian Cynthia Hurd

Early Thursday afternoon, many of us in the South Carolina library community learned that Cynthia Hurd was one of the 9 victims who lost their lives Wednesday night during the tragic event that took place at Charleston's Emanuel AME Church. Cynthia grew up in Charleston and was the manager of Charleston County's St. Andrews Regional Library. She was previously the manager of the John L. Dart Branch from 1990 to 2011.
