iTeach 4

Wednesday, June 14th, 2017
Thomas Cooper Library, USC Campus

The full-day event, co-sponsored by SCLA’s College & University Section and Information Literacy Round Table, is a collaborative workshop on instruction and learning in the library environment. This year’s theme, “Transitions and the Roles Libraries Play,” builds on recent discussions in South Carolina’s library communities about the progression from high school to college, from community college to university, and from higher education to the workplace.

Moorefield-LangThis year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Heather Moorefield-Lang, assistant professor at the University of South Carolina School of Library and Information Science. Dr. Moorefield-Lang’s research is focused on technology in education and libraries, with a current focus on makerspaces in library settings.

We are currently accepting proposals for 50-minute presentations on topics related to information literacy, inter-library collaboration, open access, open educational resources, and more. We also welcome proposals for 10-minute presentations for a lightning round session centered on the theme of “learning from failures.”

iTeach 4 will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, 2017, at Thomas Cooper Library on the University of South Carolina campus in Columbia, SC. Registration is $25 for members of SCLA and SCASL and students enrolled in USC’s School of Library and Information Science, and $35 for non-members; lunch is included in the registration fee.
