SCLA Bibliographic Instruction Interest Group
2007 Annual Report

The SCLA Bibliographic Instruction Interest Group sponsored one major program at the 2007 Annual SCLA Conference. Presented by Coastal Carolina University Reference Librarians Jamie Graham, Alison Faix and Lisa Hartman, “More Than Just a Pretty Facebook: Generating Positive Buzz for Your Academic Library” was well attended with thirty-seven individuals present. The program received very positive evaluations and generated much discussion among both academic and public librarians.

The Bibliographic Instruction Interest Group also held our annual business meeting at the conclusion of our November 2nd program. Six members participated in the meeting and new officers were elected. Our 2007-2008 officers are as follows:

Secretary- Lisa Hartman, Coastal Carolina University
Treasurer- Andrew Kearns, University of South Carolina Upstate
Past Chair- Alison Faix, Coastal Carolina University

The Bibliographic Instruction Interest Group certainly enjoyed a productive year of exchanging and learning new information. We look forward to exciting new year of exploring and learning together as South Carolina Librarians.
