Call for Nominations: SCLA Treasurer and Secretary

Consider nominating a colleague to serve on SCLA's Executive Board by contacting Immediate Past President Adam Haigh.

The Treasurer is responsible for receiving and making deposits, paying Association bills, keeping accurate records of financial transactions, ensuring that payroll reports are completed, serving as a member of the Association's Financial Planning and Development Committee, ensuring that tax reports are filed, and coordinating an annual financial audit of the Association's financial records.

Funding Available to Increase Literacy Resources for Adult English Language Learners

In May 2012, The ALA Office for Literacy and Outreach Services (OLOS) received funding from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to continue the American Dream Starts @ your library, a literacy initiative serving adult English language learners and their families. A primary goal of this project is to help public libraries in Dollar General communities add or improve library literacy services for adult English language learners and their families.
