Library Administration Section

South Carolina Library Association
2006 Annual Report

The Chair of the section was the only office filled during the year.

As of February 2006, the section had 47 members and an account balance of $1480.76.

The section sponsored two programs at the 2006 Annual Conference. On November 30, Jill Cornwell and Beverly James of the Greenville County Library System presented a program entitled “Customer Service Training That Works.” Several members of the audience asked questions and requested additional information. Approximately 35–40 persons attended.

On December 1, Kathy Kegley of Clemson University presented a program entitled “Beyond Brainstorming: Mind Mapping for New Ideas.” Following introductory remarks, Ms. Kegley led attendees through some small group activities to demonstrate her points. Lively discussion followed. Approximately 30–35 persons attended.

At each program, I asked how many attendees were members of the Library Administration Section and no one acknowledged that they were.

Jonathan Bradsher, director of the North Greenville University Library, has agreed to be chair for 2007.

Respectfully submitted,

Beverly James
