National Library Legislative Day (NLLD) is an ALA-sponsored two-day event in which people who care about libraries participate in advocacy and issue training sessions, interact with Capitol Hill insiders, and visit congressional member offices to ask Congress to pass legislation that supports libraries.

This year NLLD will take place on Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14, in Washington, DC.

A delegation from South Carolina, representing public, school, academic, and corporate libraries, as well as library friends groups will participate in the event. The SCLA Legislative Committee will coordinate the event and SCLA will pay the $20 registration fee for each delegate (this includes members of SCASL).

If you are interested in participating, please contact Steve Johnson, SCLA Legislative Committee Chair, no later than Friday, March 28, 2008, at johnsos@clemson.edu.
