2002 Annual Report of the Federal Relations Coordinator
Nine library advocates from South Carolina participated in National Library Legislative Day, held in Washington, D.C., on May 6 & 7, 2002.
Participants included:

- Lucinda Kress, South Carolina State Library
- Faith A. Line, Sumter County Library
- Cart Stone, Anderson County Library
- Bill Sudduth, Thomas Cooper Library, University of South Carolina
- Nancy Zimmerman, School of Library and Information Science, University of South Carolina
The Palmetto State librarians visited all eight South Carolina Congressional offices for discussion of national library legislative issues, meeting with Senator Strom Thurmond and Representatives Henry Brown, James Clyburn, John Spratt and Joe Wilson. They also met with legislative assistants to Senator Ernest Hollings and Representatives Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint.
Plans are underway for participation in next year’s Legislative Day, to be held in Washington on May 12 & 13, 2003.
