College and University Section
Annual Report
2007
Officers serving for 2006–2007 were:
Programs Coordinator: Gerri Corson, University of South Carolina Columbia
The College and University Section officers worked hard this year to provide two excellent professional development opportunities to South Carolina college and university librarians. The College and University Section’s membership also held steady and the treasury increased by approximately $340.00.
The May workshop, entitled Keeping Up With Our Patrons: Adapting to User Expectations, brought together over forty librarians from across South Carolina. Librarians from a variety of institutions including technical colleges, four year colleges, universities, PASCAL, and the South Carolina State Library participated in the workshop.
The College and University Section sponsored a conference presentation by Robert Fox, Associate Director, Georgia Tech Library & Information Center, entitled Re-engineering the Georgia Tech Library for Student Success. Robert Fox enthusiastically discussed the planning process, financial and construction considerations, and the collaborative partners that have helped to make the project a success.
